I think I have mentioned before that fall is my favorite season of the year. Living in a climate where the trees change color is especially beautiful. Today while walking in nature to recharge my batteries, I came across a couple of trees with bright yellow leaves. The leaves were falling off the tree like crazy, but the tree didn’t look any more depleted. The ground was covered with those fallen leaves, and I decided to walk closer to take a picture with my phone (the one on this blog post). This poem was inspired by that tree. Here it goes.
Shedding Leaves
-My eyes catch the golden hue
Beautifully holding on by a thread
There are not many left -just a few
Becoming bare is not such a dread
-Full of branches standing strong
Deeply rooted to the ground
Growing in the precise place where it belongs
Shedding golden leaves without a sound
-I walk to stand under it
To take in the breathtaking sight
Standing in the golden pit
Oh what a marvelous delight
