"Let us always meet each other with a smile."

I currently live in Schwetzingen, Germany. I graduated with my BA in English literature with a minor in journalism. Next to reading and writing, I developed an obsession for journals, which led me to start my own small business of making leather journals in travel sizes.
I am a morning person and enjoy my coffee to start the day. Fall is my favorite time of the year followed by winter. My love for golden and blue hour made it a must for me to become a proficient landscape photographer. Only to discover that foggy mornings are something else. On those mornings I don’t know if I should take landscape pictures or sit down and write poetry.
I love to explore old castle ruins and newer palaces; we got a lot of those here in Germany. The weekly stroll through the forest is essential for my well-being and my inspiration.
I am very diverse and enjoy all kinds of art, some only seasonal. For example, crocheting is my fall and winter art past time, and papermaking my spring and summer art past time. I tried pouring, alcohol ink art, and block printing; I have more art canvas colored then walls to hang them all up.
I started this blog as a way to discover my writing style in poetry, short stories, and possibly novels. Now I am sharing my writing (and possibly some of my other art) with other enthusiasts here on this blog. If you are the other enthusiast, Thank You for reading!
Frequently asked questions
When did you start to write?
It was 2006 and my husband deployed to Iraq. I went out to buy two journals, one for him and one for me. We promised to write in for a month and then sent them to each other. This went well for a month or so, and then I ended up writing in both.
what camera do you use for your photography?
I started my photography journey with a Nikon D60. When I became a bit more serious about photography I bought the Nikon D7200. I am a firm believer that it’s the talent that counts not the gear. An intro camera can do the job just fine, as long as the person behind the camera knows what they are doing.
what are some of your favorite books
The Jane Austen books, Timeline by Michael Crichton, Kindred by Octavia Butler, and The Help by Kathryn Stockett, just to name a few.
what do you use to write
For my poetry I write into my my journal with a pencil, and only after making the last changes to my poem, I use my Lamy fountain pen. For short stories I use my computer and scrivener.
