This next poem was written out of frustration due to some injustice that was happening in the world. I was starting to think that only bad situations were inspiring me to write poetry. I didn’t like that. I didn’t want to write poetry only in negative life situations, but in all kinds of situations. Actually, preferably in happy situations, and in times I feel extremely grateful. Nevertheless, writing about bad life situations helps me process them, I guess. Here it goes.
Don’t Oppress
Nonsensical behavior of yours
Don’t you remember,
Good will always win
Don’t you see!
Pride and arrogance is your downfall
Oppressors before you feel
It only took one pebble
Allah gives victory to whom he wills
