At the very beginning I was under the impression that poetry always had to rhyme. I figured there was a certain standard that dictated the amounts of words each line had to have, and in which lines they had to rhyme. And yes, there is a standard, actually there are many different forms of poetry structures. Poem structures can have rhyming lines and meter, but poems can also be freeform, which seems a much easier formal structure for some. Although I love rhyming poems, I thought this freeform structure was more up my alley for the beginning, so I tried it. Here it goes.
Truth
Hush! Speak not the unspeakable
Be quiet! No one will hear you anyways
Do not talk!
Because the talk of untruth is not worth mentioning
In the world we exist
Turning like a top
The actions and fractions of our lives are small,
Hurry it will cease to spin!
It will unfold
The truth will win!
