I think it is safe to say that we live in a time where we don’t know who is telling the truth anymore. We are surrounded by liars who are trying to distract us with all kinds of narratives, so that we are busy with other things and won’t see what is happening in reality. I am, like many others, extremely frustrated and so I did what I do most of the time when I am frustrated, I put pen to paper. Here it goes…
Distraction
We are surrounded by liars
Who promise us the moon
With its glow and beauty
Visible even at noon
–
My vision quite distracted
Admiring the splendor
So bright up in the sky
I didn’t see the offender
–
It couldn’t be intentional
Distracting me so
That I didn’t see the lies
Because of the apparent glow
–
But what is there now to do
It can not be too late
I must fight these lies
Or succumb to this fate
