Spring Has Arrived

It is officially spring, and the weather has started to warm a bit. I love winter, but every time spring comes around, I remember how much I love seeing the cherry blossom trees bloom. I can also not get enough of the bird chirping, especially the male common blackbird. The sound he makes is so calming and peaceful. He can be heard before the sun rises and way past sunset. I also love to hike during early spring because one can see all the new growth in the forest. Thinking about this season and going through my old poems, I came across one that reminds me of spring. I thought I might share it here. This is how it goes.

The Meadow

Deep in the forest surrounded by big trees

Growing on the hard ground with its roots all free

Here I lay down and close my eyes

Here I wait for the sun to start to rise

All around me a lush of green

The most beautiful place I have ever seen

The day is starting bright shining through

Highlighting on the leaves all of the dew

The chilly air is starting to warm

I feel so safe here from all the harm

Here I will lay a while

Keeping in my heart and face a smile

Until it turns again dark

And I hear the wolves mark
