I was going through my little poetry book to see which poem I was going to post today, and I came across this short and sweet poem. It spoke to me, since I have been slowly learning how to write poetry. Not to say that I have learned much, but also not to say that I haven’t learned anything at all. I guess what I am trying to say is that anything we learn in life takes time. Learning how to write poetry takes time and practice. This journey has been fun, although I have some days where I feel totally uninspired to write. Still, I am loving it. I am not sure if my poetry is any good, I guess that is subjective. As we know beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Nevertheless, this little poem that I wrote in Spring of 2016 just reminded me that slow and steady is just fine, and that I don’t have to run. Here it goes.
Slowly
Take one step
And you will see the change
Many people think they have to run
Although humans learn to walk first
You don’t even have to look back
And you don’t even have to think
Imagine
